Lighting Recommendations

Plan Beforehand
Do a walk through of where you will be shooting and plan your lighting setups beforehand to make sure you stay consistent throughout the entire shoot.
Choose the Best Hour of the Day
Midday is the best time of day to shoot, when the sun is directly overhead, to create a more ambient color and better highlight the details of the location.
Utilize Natural Light
Midday is the best time of day to shoot, when the sun is directly overhead, to create a more ambient color and better highlight the details of the location.
Use Practical Lighting Sources
Turn on lamps or ceiling lights to illuminate the locations that have no natural light sources, and to add some character to the space.

Pan Shots

Rotate body from hips left to right and right to left to record pan shots.
  • Film shots by standing still in
one corner of a room or outside.
  • Switch directions between shots
    to provide different movements.
  • Record steady shots, 5 seconds in
length, for smaller spaces where a
    pan is unachievable.
